1. U.S.S. North Carolina Battleship
Fall back in time aboard the Battleship and experience seafaring from the safe shore.
Moored in quiet dignity and majesty: the Battleship NORTH CAROLINA. Just across the river from downtown Wilmington, beckons visitors to walk her decks. Envision the daily life and fierce combat her crew faced in the Pacific Theatre during World War II.
Explore the ‘Showboat’. She is, after all, the most decorated naval vessel of WWII.
2. Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides
Springbrook Farms offers old-school & eco-friendly travel through the streets of downtown Wilmington.
Springbrook Farms has been in operation for 33 years and their horses are all rescued. Taking a ride is really a win-win-win for everybody here! Discover the streets of downtown Wilmington as told by your costumed driver in this unique experience that is sure to please the whole family!
3. N.C. Aquarium
Open the door to a whole new world while you dive into discovery, mystery, and awe.
Aquarium visitors explore the wonders of aquatic environments: from freshwater streams, swamps, coastline habitats, reefs, and the open ocean. Discover unique habitats and animals from North Carolina and around the world.
Get eye-to-eye with a sea turtle. Meet a rescued bald eagle. Watch sharks glide with rays and eels. Dig for fossils. Touch starfish and horseshoe crabs!
4. Thalian Hall
Wilmington’s #1 performing arts center since 1858.
Thalian Hall's three venues annually host 422 events! No matter what your taste or style, you’re sure to find something to entertain and amuse.
It has hosted Shakespearean tragedies, musical concerts, and even boxing and wrestling events. For generations, Wilmington audiences have witnessed touring stars, local actors, musicians, dancers, and movies in a parade of performances and celebratory events.
5. Airlie Gardens
Airlie’s historic property encompasses more than 67 acres of spectacular gardens, seasonal blooms, mighty live oaks, walking trails, and historic structures.
An introvert’s paradise with a self-guided walking experience allows visitors to explore more than a dozen gardens; including the Pergola, Minnie Evans Bottle Chapel & a seasonal Butterfly House.
