Meet Lauren & Sal

Lauren and Sal are an amazing couple that reached out to SWELL home & living after seeing one of our homes for sale. They saw our sign and it opened up their eyes…

The Journey Begins

These two lovebirds were looking to buy a home in southern Wilmington or preferrably near the beach. They were looking for at least 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and larger lot to play in! They both love the water and wanted to be close to it or have quick access to it. A public or neighborhood boat ramp would have been great! A beach access would have been even better though...

When we met Lauren & Sal, they wanted to see one of our listings in Myrtle Grove. This house was awesome, it had: a huge addition with giant master bedroom and ensuite bathroom, a downstairs master as well, an open kitchen and living room, a 3 car garage with a rear door to pull all the way through, a neighborhood boat ramp and day dock, and no HOA! This house checked a lot of the boxes for Lauren & Sal.

Unfortunately, this house wasn’t the right home. We kept in touch and continued to help them on their home buying journey.

The Saga Continues

Lauren and Sal were renting a tiny place on Carolina Beach and needed more room.

Lauren and Sal really wanted this next move to be to their dream home. A place where Lauren could work from her home office and a place for Sal to store his tools or even a small workshop.

Lauren had a townhouse that she had been renting to friends and wanted to sell. We listed the home and with help from Lauren’s creative eye for interior design her townhouse sold in record time, for even more than we were targeting! Which was a huge bonus as their dream home had just turned up in Kure Beach…

A freshly renovated, adorable beach cottage built in the 1930s was just screaming for Lauren to fabulize it!

And then, of course, walk the mere 5 blocks it would take to get to the ocean for much-deserved R & R.

Landing the Dream

We made an offer and it was accepted! We had the home inspected and everything looked good except for one thing. Previously the seller had tried to sell the house and found out that it needed a lot of structural work under the home. The seller hired Chris Holmes Engineering and Mid Center Beam to do the work. They did an incredible job fixing the home, that house is now rock solid.

There was only one step left and it was having an engineer come back out to make sure the work was done correctly. That’s when we first met Worth Godwin, an awesome engineer and quite the character. Worth came out to the house and verified the work was good, no issues. We’ve worked with Worth on several other projects since but we were very thankful to have his expertise here at this amazing little beach cottage.

Lauren & Sal moved in and began building their dream life together in a beautiful home so close to the ocean you can practically taste it.

We couldn’t be happier for you Lauren & Sal!

Move Confidently.
