Composed of classically trained violist and violinists Wil Baptiste and Kev Marcus, Black Violin combines their classical training with hip-hop influences to create a distinctive multi-genre sound often described as a “classical boom.” For more than a dozen years, Black Violin has challenged conventions as this classical-meets-hip-hop duo has steadily built a devoted diverse national following including two sold-out shows at the Kennedy Center with the National Symphony Orchestra all while keeping their own unique musical style.
